Toy Story 5 Teaser Sets Woody and Buzz Against a Digital Device
Exactly 30 anniversary since the first Toy Story film debuted, launching the animation giant as a leading animation studio and bringing viewers to beloved figures like Woody (the actor) and the space ranger (the voice talent), who are now household names.
In 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a glimpse into the plot but leaving viewers curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
Bonnie's New Toy: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Toys
The preview reveals Bonnie — who inherited the toy collection when he grew up — receiving a latest plaything, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. She gets her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.
Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the toys appear to consider it as a danger intending to supplant them, which it probably is.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
One thing the teaser avoids is why the sheriff is returned with his companions in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (the actress), journeying with a fair and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Certainly, the filmmakers will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him appear in the familiar setting without warning is a little strange, though. It also makes us wonder whether Bo Peep will have returned with Woody. And where is the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?
Connections from the Previous Film
Fortunately, some elements are carrying over from the earlier movie. The final act Woody did before departing for his new life was hand over his symbol of authority to Jessie (the voice actor), leaving her in charge of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser shows the badge pinned to her shirt.
It is hoped she is still the driving force among the group.
